Robotic System Solutions ("we", "us") operates the RSS Robot Technical Assistant mobile app. This page explains what data the app handles and how.
No account required
The app does not require you to create an account or sign in. There is no user registration and no personal profile of any kind.
Data stored on your device
The app stores your fault logs, technician notes, plant/asset/robot records, preventive maintenance schedules, and OCR scan history locally on your device, in a local database. We do not operate a server, and none of this data is transmitted to us or to any third party.
If Android's built-in device backup is enabled on your phone, this local data may be included in your own Google Account backup. That backup is controlled by you and Google, not by us.
Camera use
The app uses your device's camera to scan fault codes and nameplates using on-device text recognition (Google ML Kit, running fully offline). Photos are processed on your device only. They are never uploaded, stored as image files, or sent to us or anyone else.
Notifications
The app can send local reminders for scheduled maintenance tasks. These are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any external notification service.
In-app purchases
The app offers an optional one-time purchase to unlock full functionality, processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details. That is handled directly by Google, under Google's own Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
The app uses Google Play Billing (for purchases) and Google ML Kit (for on-device text recognition). Neither service receives your personal data from this app beyond what is needed to process a purchase.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, because we do not collect it in the first place.
Children's privacy
This app is intended for industrial/technical use by adult technicians and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the app's functionality changes. Updates will be posted on this page.
